The Power of Skype 2

So I was just reading over my blog and I realized that the point I was trying to make with that entry wasn't made. The pint that I was trying to make is that The Power of Skype is that when and if you do have a phone that has WiFi you are no longer reliant on the "network" you can make calls and chat using Skype. Cheap intranational or international long distance calls, who could ask for more? Check it out http://www.skype.com to see if your phon is compatible or download fring from handango. windows phones only

Portable Apps

This is very cool, but the mobile tech savvy should already know about this. For those that don't or those that want to add it to there own flash drive without buying one of the pre-packaged ones here it is. It is portable software that launches from a flash drive. I use mine on my 1GB(I know I need more memory) miniSD card that I use in my Moto Q with a SD card adapter and USB memory card reader. Whatever the set up it will work. Include Mozilla Firefox, OpenOffice and more . . .

The Power of Skype

The first thing that needs to change is the relationship between cell phone manufacureres and cell phone networks i.e sprint and cingular, the reason is that they are creating a monopoly on communications. Sprint offers EVDO for internet, but if your phone has WiFi you can use that as well, but if you dont there is no other way to send emails, blog, twit, browse the webs(yes there is more than one, or make a VoiP call other than the wireless network. Now why would they not want us to be able to communicate with WiFi? Because money that you do pay for it doesn't go to them. I pay half the amount I pay for rent to Sprint and they can't have a company make a touch screen smart phone, with Windows Mobile 6, and WiFi for under 200 dollars. There are phone out there for every american cell phone network that do what i want, but when you get in to the 1,200 dollar range for a phone without a contract and 599 with the technology is not going to get adapted and then you are going to have no one use it.

Where is this rant going you may be asking, all I would like to see is more companyies and consumers, yes you, use the technology that we have available to us and next time you are going to spent more than 300 dollars on a phone, do it because of the communication and technological aspects, not because it is a fucking iPhone.

Hey

Hey everybody, just thought I would say hi. So hi. This is the first time that I have every had a personal blog, which I decided this one would be. Go Opera, Free Blog. Thats what i think there no slogan should be. So about me. I work a crappy dead end job doing customer service for Directv. I have a girlfriend who I love and will spend the rest of my life with. I thank whoever was responsible for me finding her everyday. Sappy I know, sorry. I am a huge geek and think that cell phones, mainly Windows Mobile Phones are the greatest thing ever. I have a Moto Q, that i also use Opera on, Opera Mobile 8.65. It is like a mini computer and I would be lost with out it. I would be lost with out alot of things. My girlfriend, my cats, my friends and family, my journal, my phone, my wallet, oh and my Gary Fisher Marlin its 13 yrs old and I bought it used but it is the greatest transportation ever.

What's to come?

I decided to start this blog as a way to tell the world what i thought would becoming in the years to come with our Mobile Society and the hardware that is going to let us get there. To the tech savvy out there is might sound cool and needed or it may just sound like rambling about cell phones that no one cares about. I will let you be the judge.

Keitai, Mobile, Handy, Cell . . .

Argue all you want about the internet being the greatest communicating achievment in the past 20 years and you will have the masses nod in agreement. For me it is the cell phone. It may not be a huge communuty where you can share info, knowledge, send messages, browse photos, shop, and more, but it does have access to the community. A cell phone today can make a call, send an email, or text, or video, or photo, can surf the internet, watch tv, listen to mp3's, or the radio, take a photo, pay for cigs, and even wake you up. the best thing for me about the cell is that it has changed our language on a day-to-day basis. I don't know when the last time I said,"Hello is 'Blank' There?" was. You call my number you get me everytime.
